This kind of rack mount media converter is a 2U rack mount media converter combine with a Network Management Unit (MCU). The whole rack contains 16 pieces of media converter module and 1 piece of network managed module. Each module can be used separately, and different kind of converter module can be inserted into one rack. The rack mount media converter adopts communication isolation technology to separate the system power from the converter module totally. Guaranteed the dependability of the whole system.it supports protocols like SNMP, WEB,TELNET and CONSOLE, and realizes the integrated management to all chassis, Offering MIB files, convernient to be merged to the third party's software like Openview and SNMPC.
The network management of 2U Rack Mount Enhanced Network Managed Media Converter is capable to manage the network. This network management polls the active fiber module, displays the type of installed cards, link status as well as other important information. The Network Management also enables/disables each port on the Line Cards, enables module loop-back testing and provides the ability to configure system parameters such as the system IP address. The system supports up to 16 Line Cards and each MCU can work with RJ-45 interface or fiber interface. By combining the TX and the optional FX port on the MCU card, all Line Cards are hot swappable and redundant power supplies option is available. The MCU module provides four ways to manage the Optoscape chassis, LineCards and Fiber infrastructure.
